Most people who try forex trading lose money. The main reason isn't bad luck, it's starting without understanding the basics.
The average retail forex trader opens an account, deposits money, and places their first trade within 72 hours. They may have watched a few YouTube videos. They probably don't know what a pip is, what leverage actually does to a $500 account, or why a broker with a 3-pip spread is costing them more than they realize. Six weeks later, the account is down 60%. They quit, believing the market is rigged.
The market isn't rigged. It's just that nobody taught them the rules before they started playing. That's what the Forex Academy is for.
Why We Built the Forex Academy
We run forex.mobile, a platform used by traders across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. We publish broker comparisons, live charts, and in-depth broker reviews. And the single most common thing we hear from new users?
“I've been reading about forex for weeks but I don't know where to actually start. I don't want to lose money again.”
There are plenty of forex “courses” online, but most of them either cost money, exist to funnel you into a broker referral, or teach outdated chart patterns without explaining the mechanics underneath.
We wanted to build something different: a structured, interactive course that teaches the real fundamentals — how currencies move, what risk and leverage actually mean in dollar terms, how to read a chart, how to pick a broker, and gives you proof you finished it. Free. No upsells. No credit card.
The 5 Modules, What You'll Actually Learn
The Forex Academy is structured as five sequential modules. Each one builds on the last. You can't skip to Module 4 without completing 1–3, that's intentional. The sequence matters.
What the forex market actually is, who trades it and why, how currency pairs work, what a quote means, and why EUR/USD moves when the Fed speaks. The foundation everything else is built on.
The single most misunderstood part of forex. You'll learn what a pip is worth in real money, how lot sizes scale your risk, and why two traders can have the same setup and completely different outcomes based on position size alone.
Leverage is the most powerful and most dangerous tool in retail trading. This module strips away the broker marketing and shows you exactly what 1:100 leverage does to a $500 account when a trade goes wrong. With a live simulator you control.
Support and resistance, trend lines, candlestick patterns, and the three indicators actually worth knowing. Practical, not theoretical — every concept is shown on a real EUR/USD chart.
How to evaluate a broker beyond the marketing: regulation, spreads, execution speed, withdrawal terms. What a demo account is for and how to use it properly. The module ends with a full walkthrough of placing your first practice trade.
Each module ends with a short quiz, typically 5 questions. You need to pass before moving to the next one. It's not a rubber stamp; the quizzes are designed to make sure the material actually stuck.
Interactive Exercises: Pip Calculator, Leverage Simulator & More
Reading about leverage is one thing. Watching a simulator eat your virtual account is another. The academy includes four interactive tools built into the course, not linked out to, actually embedded:
Enter a currency pair, lot size, and account currency, see the pip value in real money instantly. Shows you exactly what each pip is worth before you risk it.
Set your account size, leverage level, and trade size, then move a slider to simulate market movement. Watch your margin call level in real time. More instructive than any warning label.
Match forex terms to definitions using drag-and-drop cards. Covers bid/ask spread, slippage, margin, pip, lot, rollover, and more. Faster retention than reading a glossary.
You're shown two anonymised brokers side by side. Pick the better one based on spread, regulation, and minimum deposit. Teaches broker evaluation the way a quiz teaches pattern recognition — through repetition.
These aren't gimmicks. The leverage simulator alone has prevented more impulsive trades than any amount of reading. When you watch virtual money evaporate at 1:500 leverage on a 50-pip move, the lesson sticks.
The XP & Level System, Feels Like a Game
We added a full XP and level system, not to make it feel like a game for the sake of it, but because learning retention actually improves when progress is visible and tangible.
As you earn XP, you level up through five tiers: Novice, Student, Trader, Expert, and Certified Forex Trader. Each level unlocks the next module and changes your academy profile badge. The final level is only unlocked after passing the 25-question certification exam.
The Flashcard Game, 50 Forex Terms
Forex has a vocabulary problem. New traders encounter terms like “rollover,” “slippage,” “margin call,” and “base currency” constantly, and most never bother to actually learn them, which means they're trading with gaps in their understanding.
The flashcard game covers 50 good forex terms in a spaced-repetition format. You see the term, guess the definition, flip the card to check. Terms you get wrong come back sooner. Terms you nail move to the back of the deck. It takes about 15 minutes to run through the full set once, and most users do 2–3 passes.
These aren't obscure terms. They're the words you will encounter every single day when trading — in broker interfaces, in charts, in news commentary. Knowing them fluently is table stakes.
The Certificate, Real Value, Shareable on LinkedIn
After completing all five modules and passing the final 25-question exam, you receive a Certified Forex Trader certificate from forex.mobile. It includes your name, the date, and a unique verification code.
The certificate is downloadable as a PDF and formatted for LinkedIn's “Licenses & Certifications” section. Add it to your profile the same way you would a Google or HubSpot certification.
Is a forex certificate from an independent platform going to get you hired at Goldman Sachs? No. But it signals something real: that you took the time to learn before risking capital. That you understand the mechanics. That you're not another retail trader flying blind. For anyone moving into finance, joining a prop firm, or wanting to demonstrate trading literacy, it's a meaningful credential.
Who the Academy Is For
You've heard about forex, you're curious, but you haven't placed a trade. The academy takes you from zero, no assumptions about prior knowledge. Complete all five modules, pass the quizzes, earn your certificate. Then open a demo account and practice with zero risk before touching real money.
Start Module 1 →You've traded before. Maybe profitably, maybe not. Skip the intro material and go straight to the 25-question certification exam. Score 20 or more and you get the certificate without taking the full course. But here's the thing: most experienced traders who take the test cold score 14–16. The questions go beyond surface-level definitions. If you don't clear 20, you'll know exactly which modules to focus on.
Go to Certification Exam →Either way, there's no downside. The course is free. The certificate is free. There's no email wall, no credit card, no subscription. You open forex.mobile/academy, start, and learn.
After completing the academy, start with a demo account on Exness, our top-rated broker for beginners. FCA regulated, $10 minimum, instant withdrawals, full MT4/MT5 support.

The Forex Academy is live now at forex.mobile/academy. No registration required to start. You'll need to create a free account (just email + password) before the certification exam, so your certificate can be issued and verified.
The full course — all five modules, all interactive tools, the flashcard game, and the certification exam, takes around 45 minutes if you move at a steady pace. Most people spread it over two sessions.
We built it free because we believe better-educated traders make better decisions. They pick better brokers. They manage risk properly. They stay in the market long enough to actually get good, rather than blowing up and quitting in the first month.
