Overview

Axi is an Australian forex and CFD broker founded in 2007, regulated by ASIC, FCA, DFSA, and FSA. Previously known as AxiTrader, Axi has built a strong reputation in the MetaTrader community for its tight spreads, reliable execution, and trader-focused tools including Autochartist signals and PsyQuation performance analytics.

We rate Axi 4.7 / 5 for its $0 minimum deposit, strong ASIC and FCA dual regulation, built-in copy trading via the Axi Copy Trading platform, and its free Autochartist signal integration. While the instrument range is focused at 100+ (quality over quantity), the Pro account delivers spreads from 0.0 pips with tight pricing on major forex pairs. It's the ideal choice for committed MetaTrader traders who want signals and copy trading built in.

Who Is Axi Best For?

🔨
MT4 & MT5 Loyalists
Axi is built around MetaTrader. If MT4 or MT5 is your platform of choice and you want a regulated broker with tight spreads and excellent execution, Axi is a top-tier option.
📈
Signal-Based Traders
Free Autochartist integration provides automated pattern recognition and trading signals directly in the platform. This gives traders a significant analytical edge at no additional cost.
👥
Copy Trading Beginners
Axi Copy Trading is built directly into the broker ecosystem, making it seamless to follow experienced traders without needing third-party platforms or complicated setup.
Performance Analytics Fans
PsyQuation analyses your trading psychology and performance metrics, identifying weaknesses and patterns in your decision-making — a unique differentiator in the retail broker space.

Who Should Avoid Axi?

📈
Multi-Asset Traders
With only 100+ instruments, Axi is not suited for traders who want access to thousands of stocks, ETFs, or commodities. FP Markets or RoboForex offer far broader instrument ranges.
🔨
cTrader Users
Axi does not support cTrader. Traders who rely on cTrader's advanced depth of market, cAlgo automation, or Level II pricing will need to look at FP Markets or Pepperstone.
🌏
Exotic Pair Hunters
Axi's focused 100+ instrument range means fewer exotic currency pairs compared to brokers like Pepperstone or FP Markets. Traders targeting niche pairs may find the selection limiting.

Spreads & Fees Deep Dive

Axi offers two account types: Standard and Elite. The Standard account features spreads starting from 0.9 pips on EUR/USD with no commission — a commission-free, all-inclusive pricing model. The Elite account is Axi's raw pricing option, with spreads from 0.0 pips and a $7 per round-turn commission per standard lot — equivalent to $3.50 each way. This positions Elite as a mid-tier raw account, slightly more expensive than IC Markets or Pepperstone's raw offerings but still competitive.

One differentiator is Axi's free Autochartist integration for all accounts — this pattern recognition tool normally costs $50-100/month elsewhere. PsyQuation, an AI-powered performance analytics platform, is also free for active traders. These tools add significant real value beyond pure pricing.

Platform Review

Axi is a MetaTrader-focused broker: it supports MT4 fully and MT5 in select regions, along with a mobile MetaTrader app. MT4 on Axi is optimised for low latency, with servers co-located in Equinix LD4 (London) and NY4 (New York) data centres for minimal execution delay. The broker also offers Axi Copy Trading, its proprietary signal marketplace, and a free demo account with unlimited duration.

There is no cTrader or TradingView integration at Axi — a limitation compared to IC Markets or Vantage. However, for traders who exclusively use MT4 with Expert Advisors, Axi's setup is clean, reliable, and well-optimised. Axi also provides free VPS hosting for traders meeting minimum monthly volume requirements.

Regulation & Safety

Axi is regulated by ASIC (Australia), FCA (UK), DFSA (Dubai), and FSA (Saint Vincent). The ASIC and FCA licenses are the gold standard — both mandate client fund segregation, negative balance protection, and belong to mandatory investor compensation schemes. UK retail clients are potentially covered by the FSCS up to £85,000; Australian clients have access to AFCA dispute resolution.

Client funds are held in segregated accounts at National Australia Bank, Westpac, and Barclays. Axi has been operating since 2007 under its former name AxiTrader — nearly two decades of clean regulatory history. The broker publishes audited financial statements and maintains transparency around its operations and risk management.

Deposit & Withdrawal

Axi has no minimum deposit on Standard accounts (effectively $0), and a $5 minimum for Elite accounts — making it very accessible. Deposits are accepted via Visa/Mastercard, bank wire, Skrill, Neteller, FasaPay, and several local payment methods. Card deposits are instant; bank wires take 1-3 business days.

Withdrawals are processed within 2 business days for all methods. Axi charges no fees on deposits or withdrawals. The minimum withdrawal amount is $20 for most methods. There is an inactivity fee of $10/month applied after 12 months without trading activity — worth noting for dormant accounts.

Customer Support

Axi provides 24/5 multilingual customer support via live chat, email, and phone. Support covers English, Chinese, Thai, and several other languages. Response times are typically under 5 minutes on live chat. There's a solid knowledge base and a free educational resource section covering trading fundamentals, technical analysis, and platform guides — though the education offering is less comprehensive than XM.
