Exness is the world's largest retail forex broker by volume — surpassing $4 trillion monthly. We opened a real account and tested everything. Here's our honest verdict.
Exness was founded in 2008 and has grown to become the world's largest retail forex broker by monthly trading volume. In 2025, Exness processed over $4.7 trillion in monthly volume across 800,000+ active traders in 150+ countries. That's larger than Interactive Brokers, Saxo Bank, and most other retail-facing competitors combined.
The broker is headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus and operates under multiple regulatory licenses. Their growth has been driven by a combination of genuinely competitive spreads, instant withdrawal processing, and aggressive expansion into Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East — regions where other top brokers have limited presence.
Exness operates under several regulatory bodies depending on the client's jurisdiction:
Client funds are segregated in tier-1 bank accounts. Exness publishes monthly financial reports including client equity figures, which demonstrates unusual transparency for the industry. As of Q4 2025, client equity on platform exceeded $1.8 billion.
Key limitation: Exness is not available to clients in the United States, Iran, Canada, and several EU countries where stricter licensing requirements have made operations commercially unviable. EU clients who specifically require MiFID II protections should verify their entity carefully.
Exness offers five account types, but the two most relevant for serious traders are:
Standard Account: No commission, spreads from 0.3 pips on EURUSD. Best for beginners and casual traders who prefer simplicity.
Raw Spread Account: Spreads from 0.0 pips on EURUSD, $3.50 per standard lot per side commission. Best for active traders and scalpers. This is where Exness truly shines — the raw spreads are consistently among the tightest in the industry, often beating IC Markets and Pepperstone on a pure spread basis.
XAUUSD (gold) spreads on the Raw account average 0.05–0.10 pips, which is exceptional. Oil (XTIUSD) and crypto spreads are also competitive.
Exness' instant withdrawal system is genuinely unique in the industry. Most brokers process withdrawals in 1–3 business days. Exness completes the majority of withdrawals in under 30 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We tested this directly: a withdrawal request submitted at 11pm on a Saturday was completed in 8 minutes to a cryptocurrency wallet, and 22 minutes to a bank card. This operational capability requires sophisticated automated compliance systems and substantial liquidity reserves — it's a meaningful sign of financial health.
Supported withdrawal methods include bank wire, Visa/Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, and cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, USDT, ETH). Minimum withdrawal is $10 on most methods.
Exness supports MT4, MT5, and the Exness Terminal (proprietary web platform). MT4 and MT5 are offered with standard functionality — no proprietary add-ons like Pepperstone's Smart Trader Tools or Saxo Bank's advanced order types.
The Exness Terminal is the most polished proprietary platform we've tested from a non-Western broker. It features clean charting (powered by TradingView), integrated risk management tools, and a mobile-first design. For traders who find MT4/5 dated or intimidating, the Terminal is a legitimate alternative.
One notable absence: cTrader is not supported. Scalpers who rely on cTrader's depth of market features will need to look at IC Markets or Pepperstone instead.
Exness remains one of the top 2–3 brokers globally for active forex and commodity traders who prioritize cost efficiency and operational speed. The combination of 0.0-pip raw spreads, instant withdrawals, and a $10 minimum makes it uniquely accessible without compromising on execution quality.
It's not perfect — the education resources are thin, cTrader is absent, and availability in key markets (US, some EU countries) is restricted. But for the vast majority of traders globally, Exness deserves a place on the shortlist.
Best for: Active traders, scalpers, and high-volume traders in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Middle East, and Latin America. Also ideal for beginners who want low minimums and the safety of instant withdrawals.
$10 minimum. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips. Instant withdrawals. Regulated by FCA & CySEC.
